Busy busy...

After weeks of waiting in agony, our stuff finally came. It's agonising as most of our stuff are shipped here, and the things we brought over with us when we fly over were very limited.

The things that came were so much I spent the whole day yesterday unpacking the stuff from their boxes. I have yet to pack the stuff into their respective places in the apartment, they are all stacked up in a corner of the living room. The only stuff I managed to get in place are the things that are supposed to be in the kitchen, since I was unpacking the boxes in the kitchen.

Working through the day is really tiring, but fulfilling because at the end of the day, I managed to get work done. Happy.

Just talked to my mum on MSN using video call. It's nice to see her and hear her voice again, thanks to my bro who took the effort to get it going. She looks tired. Has always been tired, having to juggle work and household affairs all by herself. Lucky that she has friends to talk to and to share her woes and worries.

It's only in times like this that you realise how much work she has done for the family, and how much she has given up. That is why they say motherly love is the greatest. They carry you for 40 weeks in her tummy, and suffered morning sicknesses, backaches, heartburns, and leg cramps, and think that it's worth it when they hear your cry for the first time, and see your smile for the first time. They give unlimited love and care, and don't expect anything from you. Even when you grow up, leave them to set up your own family, find them a nuisance, send them to nursing homes, they still think that you are the best thing that happens to them, and you will forever be their child.

This is how strong the bond a mother have for her child. And how unconditionally she is willing to give just to know that her child is happy.

Cherish every moments you get to spend with your family. They are the only ones who won't leave you no matter how different you are, what a loser you are, what happen to you. They will always be there for you.

This reminds me of a story I heard when I was a little kid.

Long long ago, there lives a man who is very wealthy. He has 4 wives, and these 4 wives are very different in age. His first wife, like him, is in the 40s. His 2nd wife is in her late 30s, and his 3rd wife, in here early 30s. His last wife is the youngest of all, in her early 20s.

And so, the 5 of them lived together, 4 women sharing a husband. As a typical man would, he favour his youngest wife the most, and spent very little time and effort on his first wife, who went through thick an thin with him while he build up his business, and find means and ways to finance his business when it just started.

One day, the man fell sick, and the doctors had no remedy for his sickness, and that was when he knows his time is up, but did not tell his wives as he was afraid that they could not take the blow.

At his deathbed, he had no choice but to tell the wives the truth. His youngest wife, on hearing the news, scrambled to her room, took all her belongings, as well as all the money the man had left, and ran out of the house.

The 3 remaining wives broke into tears, and the man told them to remarry, to find their happiness which he unfortunately, could not give them anymore. The 3rd wife dried her tears, went on to pack her case, said her final goodbye to the man, and went off to look for her next happiness.

His 2nd wife went to fetch a glass of water in hope of trying to make the man feel better during his last moments. The man took a sip, and said his last goodbye to his 2nd wife, who kissed him goodbye and went off to pack her case as well.

The 1st wife stayed by his side faithfully, despite the numerous times he asked for her to leave. She laid beside him, talking to him and cheering him up. She told him that it will be fine, everything will be alright, and that she will never leave him, come what may.

The man now feel guilty and heartbroken when he realised how old and tired she looks, now that she lie beside him. It has been many years since he last took such a close look at her. She held his hand, and accompanied him on his last journey.

The 4th wife is like our liabilities, acquired at a later part of our time and taking whatever monetary posessions we have in the world during our darkest times, leaving us in disbelief.

The 3rd wife is like our friends, who will be sad but someday, will forget us, and have other friends in their lives.

The 2nd wife is like our siblings, who will be there for you when you need them, but still will leave you someday when they have their own families, their own kids, their own lives.

And the 1st wife, needless to say, is like our parents, who give unconditionaly, be there to help you succeed in life, go the extra miles for you whenever you need help, without hesitation, without asking for repayments, and without regrets. And even when you neglect them in your life, start your own family, lead your own life, they will always be there for you, whenver you need anyone. They are the only ones who will not desert you even during your darkest period, staying by your side, doing whatever they can to ease your pain, help you up, and give you a fresh start in life again. They will never leave you no matter how ugly you look, how miserably you treat them, what flaws you have, how heinous a crime you commit.

This is how great their love is. It is uncomparable, immovable, and lasts...forever...
