Those were the days...

I just caught up with my super long lost primary school close friend in msn. We had quite a chat, and we talked about friends we both know (basically everyone in school who is in our batch since there wasn't alot of students around), as well as the teachers. We talked about the friends that we met up lately, how little everyone had changed, and she kept exclaiming how fast time flies.

It brought me back to the times we spent together in school. Although the school is torn down several years ago, the memories we had there still lives in our heart, even till today, a decade after graduting from the school.

And somehow, I wish I was 11 again. At that age, we didn't have to worry about anything. Life was carefree, sweet, and simple. The talks about "first & second choices", the guy from the next class, the letter writing (despite the fact that we are seeing each other almost everyday in school), the recess times spent in the school's small but cosy canteen, playing 'five stones' in school, running around, not having to worry about people staring at you, judging you, the days spent in your project mates' homes sticking pictures and writings onto sketchbooks and construction papers, the board games we played in class after exams, and admiring how cute our PE teacher looked.

Those were the days, when you don't have to worry about anything, about money, about relationships, about work, about time. The only worry at that time was datelines - of projects and homeworks, and probably how angry your mum will get when you don't go home straight after school.

I really missed those days. Do you?
